Children's author, DIANNE OCHILTREE: PUBLISHING CREDITS
First book for children, Cats Add Up!, published in 1998 by Cartwheel Books/Scholastic as a title in its Hello Reader/math series; Bart's Amazing Charts also published as a title in this series in 2000. Both were later published by Demco Media in hardback versions for the school and library market. Third title for Hello, Reader/math series, Sunflowers Measure Up!, released by Cartwheel Books/Scholastic in April 2003. First hardcover picture book, Ten Monkey Jamboree, was published in 2001 by Margaret K. McElderry Books/Simon & Schuster, as well as by Simon & Schuster/UK, which later released a soft cover edition of the title in 2003 under the Pocket Books imprint. This title was also published in 2002 by Gautier-Languereau in a French language version, titled Dix Petits Ouistitis and was released in a Korean language book/audio set in 2003. Ten Monkey
Jamboree was recently published in an audio/soft cover set by Scholastic, for distribution via their book clubs and school book fairs. My second hardcover picture book, titled Pillow Pup, was also published by McElderry Books in 2002. Pillow Pup was licensed by Commonwealth Toy Company for the production of a plush puppy. Pillow Pup was selected by Valencia Community College as the 'perfect read-aloud' for use in their 2006 instructional video for parents, teachers and caretakers of young, educational 'at risk' children. My third hardcover picture book, Sixteen Runaway Pumpkins, was published in fall 2004 by McElderry Books and has been named to the Best Books of the Year list for 2005 by the children's book committee of Bank Street College. It also has been published in an audio/soft cover set via Scholastic Book Clubs and book fairs in fall 2005. In October 2006, it was selected by Scholastic's Firefly Book Club as Book of the Month. My Young Adult short story, "The Women's House" was published in March 2004, in an anthology titled Don't Cramp My Style: Stories About THAT Time of the Month, from Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. A picture book manuscript for infants and toddlers titled Lull-a-bye, Little One, was published by G.P. Putnam's Sons in June 2006. It has been named one of the 'Best New Books for Babies' by parenthood.com, as well as inclusion in the Dollywood Foundation's childhood literacy program as a 2007 and 2008 selection. Cats Add Up! was reissued in a new trade paperback series, Scholastic Readers, in July 2006. It was also recently released in a Chinese language edition. Bart's Amazing Charts was recently published in Braille format. Forthcoming in is a rhyming picture book titled Firefly Night, from Cooper Square and historical fiction picture book Molly, by Golly! from Calkins Creek.
OTHER PUBLISHING ACTIVITIES: Children's book reviewer for Children's Literature (e-newsletter and database used by subscribers such as Barnes & Noble, Borders Books, teachers and librarians nationwide, etc.); articles for various SCBWI chapter newsletters and other 'writing for children' publications/websites. Also served as staff and freelance writer producing advertising/marketing/PR materials.
